Luca Bovalino had this to say about Daniele - "I had the opportunity to work very closely with Daniele for about 4 years. Daniele has been responsible for several critical and important projects directly impacting the final results of the business. He is one of the most talented performers I have met in my life and among the first 10 Top Worldwide Expert within the Battery Industry. It has been my pleasure to work with him since he is not only very precise and committed but also brings, in a proactive way, a lot of fresh ideas to the Team. He is totally motivated to execute the best performance."

What We've Been Up To

President - Elect Training Seminar March 2-5 (PETS) -

Gustavo de Arriba, Tre Waldren, and Angela Rester attended the PETS training in the Chicago area two weekends ago.  It was filled with great Rotary information and ways to strengthen our clubs and find people who want to be about the high ethical standards of Rotary, its commitment to service both locally and internationally, and most important, working toward world peace in REAL ways...not just word.  Tre and Angie were joined by 2020-2021 District Governor Steen Sanderhoff. District Governor 2018-2019 Kola Alayande leads a president-elect session. Current District Governor Jeff Reed with Past District Governor Mary Beth Seiser.  Tre doing a "virtual" polio immunization day. Incoming International Rotary Board Director an 1998-1999 District Governor (DG classmate with Angie back when there were only 9 women of the 527 Districts in the World) Stephanie Urchick speaking to the attendees from 7 Districts at the PETS training.

Previous Programs

Tuesday, March 27 -  Angela Dickison - State of WI Broadband Director - Public Service Commission
This was a VERY interesting presentation and we highly recommend it for any other Rotary club.  Angie Dickison, State Broadband Director presented on "Expanding Broadband in Wisconsin". Not only did she share opportunities for competitive grants to expand Broadband into areas that do not have at least two providers with broadband accessible at 25 mbps but she also gave us insight into where the future is going. It was an exceptional program and the 12 Rotarians in attendance really appreciated her driving over from Madison. We learned that ours is the first Rotary Club that has made a request for a presentation. Amigos club members would highly recommend her program for any Rotary Club. We officially adjourned at 7 and several members left for other responsibilities, we still had 10 remain for another half hour and the Q&A portion of the program, those she graciously allowed us to ask questions throughout the program. Amigos Rock! And so much fun which even our speaker commented on. If you would like a PDF of her PowerPoint presentation please leave a comment below and we'll connect to you through Facebook Messenger to get you the PowerPoint.

Angie Dickison joined the State of Wisconsin in 2015 to head up the State Broadband Office, which is housed within the Public Service Commission. As the State Broadband Director, Angie leads broadband strategy and program development efforts within the state; she co-chairs the Commission’s Broadband Stakeholders Workgroup, and serves as a member of the Interoperability Council’s Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (FirstNet) Subcommittee. Angie has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin and was a 2014 Public Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Prior to joining the State of Wisconsin, Angie served as the technology director for Lake County, Minnesota where she was actively involved in rural broadband development. During her time in Minnesota, Angie served as a member of the Blandin Foundation’s Broadband Strategy Board; and was appointed by Governor Dayton to represent rural Minnesota communities on the Governor’s Broadband Task Force.

John Nyakoe Nyasani - John was born and raised in Eldoret Kenya, East Africa. At 13 he knew he wanted to come to the United States and study. He vividly remembers being a child in his village and the community set up a screen and showed a movie....the first time anyone in their village saw a movie.  One scene had a locomotive come straight at the audience and he recalls everyone moving out of the way.  It was his introduction to technology that has remained through today. His father is a retired Agriculturalist and is a farmer. His mother owns a boutique and sells clothes.  They were strong examples of curiosity, work ethic, and determination for John. They also own a tea farm in Kenya. John emigrated to Minneapolis, MN at 17 years of age. He is married to Cassandra (from Milwaukee and why we are fortunate to have him in our  community.  He is the father of Jordan and Candyce and has lived in Milwaukee since 2010.  Currently he is the IS Business Automation Specialist / Health Reports Coordinator with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.  John is very engaging and passionate about life and his faith.

Gustavo de Arriba - Gustavo is originally from Spain and has been the Director of Global Quality for Johnson Controls since April 2017 but came to Milwaukee with Johnson Controls in May 2016.  He has worked for Johnson Controls for 18 years and came to Milwaukee after working in Germany since 2009.  He loves being challenged and getting outside of his comfort zone. He changed his professional field of work for the challenge.  He is learning Mandarin after being proficient in Spanish, English, and German and has basic French and Italian as well.  He is an Industrial Engineer with his MBA. He's been married since 2000 and the couple have 5 children. Gustavo loves rugby, has run 4 marathons and hopes to begin training to do his first US marathon in Chicago. Gustavo is another wonderful conversationalist and like John, can talk about many topics and interests.
